UCSD Language Production Lab Illustrations (2012-2013)
During my time at the Rayner Lab at the University of California, San Diego, I was referred to for a freelance opportunity with Victor Ferreira's Language Production Lab that researches psycholinguistics: the study of the relationships between linguistic behavior and psychological processes, including the process of language acquisition.

Timeline
Typical term around time: 3 weeks, including revisions.

Objective
To create an illustration of a simple sentence, for over 100 sentences. The sentences were provided with additional descriptive details. The subject matter was wide and varied.

Example
1. an alien is wearing a pair of headphones
Details: whole alien or just head, doesn't need to be complicated. Headphones should be big enough to color in for some conditions, so not ear buds.
Outcomes
- Created over 100 individual stimuli that ranged in style, quality, detail, and subject.
- Worked directly with the lab graduate staff and communicated efficiently on timelines and deliverables.
- Direct artistic feedback was received and artwork was changed with constructive feedback.
- As seen below, the work provided satisfied the objectives and my skills were highly praised.
- The Rayner Lab offered me an additional freelance opportunity to design a few figures for one of their scientific publications, So Much to Read, So Little Time (2016).
